Geisha #1 Scrimshaw

Geisha #1 Original Image
This picture shows my next choice, #1 in a set of 5 – a Japanese Geisha in a woodblock print style. It was inspired by a friend David Adams (a fellow scrimshaw artist).
It will be scrimshawed on a very nice piece of fossil Mammoth Ivory. The weight is 26 grams, 5cm wide at the base and 8.5cm high.
Step 1 – 3/4/21
Here is the Ivory polished and ready to begin the scrimshaw.

Step 2 – 3/4/21
The picture is attached to the ivory ready for the outline to be cut out.

Step 4 – 10/4/21
This picture shows the scrimshaw finished. Next, I’ll make the base.

Step 5 – 10/5/21
I have decided to put all five Geisha Scrimshaws on the same base. I fashioned the base from Rosewood with a Mammoth Ivory nameplate.
