Geisha #2 Scrimshaw

Original Image
This picture shows my next choice, #2 in a set of 5 – a Japanese Geisha in a woodblock print style. It was inspired by a friend David Adams (a fellow scrimshaw artist).
It will be scrimshawed on a piece of fossil Mammoth Ivory. The weight is 27 grams, 4cm wide at the base and 8.5cm high.
Step 1 – 12/4/21
Here is the Ivory polished and ready to begin the scrimshaw.

Step 3 – 14/4/21
This is the ivory with the outline cut and black areas filled in. It’s now ready to have the colour applied.

Step 4 – 17/4/21
This picture shows the scrimshaw finished. I’ll add it to the base.

Step 5 – 10/5/21
Here’s all five Geisha Scrimshaws on the same base. I fashioned the base from Rosewood with a Mammoth Ivory nameplate.
