Scarletts Parrot Scrimshaw

This is my next Scrimshaw. I’ll be using a piece of fossil Mammoth ivory which weighs 128 grams and measures 6.5cm wide x 13cm high.
Step 1 – 7/6/21
This picture shows the Ivory polished and ready for the picture to be attached so the outline can be cut.

This picture shows the outline cut and black oil paint applied. Next, I will do the background.

This picture shows the black background finished.

This picture shows the finished scrimshaw. Next I’ll do the stand.

This picture shoes the finished scrimshaw on a stand of Rosewood with a Mammoth Ivory name plate.
