The Stare Tiger Scrimshaw
This is my next Scrimshaw, a Tigers Face. The Mammoth ivory I’ve chosen weighs 45 grams and is 78mm wide x 69mm high. It’s only a small piece, but it should have a powerful impact when it’s finished.
Step 1 – 02/08/19
This is the Mammoth ivory polished and ready to Scrimshaw.
Step 2 – 02/08/19
This is the picture attached and ready to cut out the outline.
Step 3 – 26/07/19
This is the scrimshaw with the black areas filled in.
Step 4 – 28/07/19
This is a small piece of Ivory with not to much detail hence it didn’t take much time, it’s a small piece but looks quite good. Here it is finished.
Base/Stand
I’ve chosen a piece of Salmon Gum burl for the base of this scrimshaw. I’ll make it in two parts.
Step 1-
Here’s the wood cut roughly to shape.
Step 2-
This is the base finished and ready to have the nameplate attached.
The End.
